“We would not have seen Scotland in the most spectacular ways if it had not been for our driver guide - a driver and travelling companion who always showed when we needed him, laughed at our jokes, and pushed us to see more. The consummate professional, the reserved gentleman, the helpful guide.”

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

Day 1

Glasgow should be your gateway arrival point for a magnificent three-night coastal escape on the West Highlands. After leaving the city behind you will soon reach the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond and then head across the Arrochar Hills, eventually reaching the shores of Loch Fyne, one of the largest and deepest lochs on the west coast. With your appetite stoked by the prospect of some fresh Scottish seafood, an appetising lunch stop could be made at the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar. From here you will head further along the shores of the loch to Lochgilphead before following the banks of the Crinan Canal where Crinan Hotel proudly sits overlooking the loch.

Day 2

Today you could take a boat trip from the harbour into the Sound of Jura and across into the Gulf of Corryvreckan, a narrow and deep stretch of water between the north of Jura and Scarba which, twice a day, results in whirlpools, standing waves, and other surface water marvels. It is the 3rd largest whirlpool in the world! After returning to dry land and taking lunch locally, the afternoon could be spent with a visit to the Kilmartin Standing Stones. This extraordinary collection of almost 80 ancient gravestones date from as far back as the 13th & 14th centuries. The glen is the richest prehistoric landscape in Scotland and within an area of 6 miles, there is a huge diversity of standing stones, stone circles, carved rocks and ancient tombs. There may also be the opportunity to visit the studio of the fantastic artist, Frances Macdonald - Frances has been a professional painter for more than 25 years and has exhibited throughout  Scotland, London, and abroad.

Day 3

Having focused on the outdoors, today you will leave the marine environment of Crinan and head a little further north towards the private island of Eriska. The market town of Oban lies between Crinan and Eriska, and there would be ample opportunity to have a gentle wander through the town and visit the Oban Distillery – one of the most popular in Scotland. Soon after leaving Oban, you could head straight to the stunning Isle of Eriska Hotel where the rest of the day could be spent taking full advantage of all this tranquil island has to offer, from indulging in a game of golf,  taking a stunning nature walk, or relaxing in the famous hotel spa

Day 4

Having ensured that your departure flight from Glasgow is not until mid to late afternoon, after breakfast you could indulge in a final walk around the island before returning south to Glasgow Airport or station for your onward travel journey.
